Samsung Electronics 64GB Flash SSD
October 23, 2007
Samsung has begun mass production 1.8 inches / 64-gigabyte hard drive solid (Solid State Disks, SSD), which is currently the largest capacity of SSD. The 64G SSD has super-capacity single-stage flash memory addresses (64 eight Gigabit single-level cell flash memory chips). Its 51 nanometer processing technology can achieve the thickness of each loop diameter of human hair 1 / 2500, SSDs have the advantage of low power consumption, low weight, durability, silent operation and high performance.
Samsung SSD will be used for notebook computers, especially ultra-light models. A 64GB Flash SSD can store 64 hours of DVD-resolution film (equivalent to 40 films), or 16,000 MP3 music files (or 1,340 hours).
