Google Phone – Gphone will launch in 2008

Tuesday, the Wall Street Journal quoted people familiar with the matter reported that Google will announce advanced cell phone software and services that the so-called Gphone could launch as early as February 2008, Google is expected to announce such software and services within two weeks.

In the past year, Google rapidly into many new markets, including online video, television, radio, print media advertising etc.. Google also entered the market of software enterprise.

It is alleged that Google will integrate its mobile phone several applications including Googer Search, Google Maps, YouTube and Gmail etc., currently, these applications have been integrated in certain models of phones. Breakthrough part of the scheme is that Google will use a customized mobile open-source operating system, allows developers to build systems compatible with the new applications, through the corresponding tools, anyone can add new functions for mobile phones.

In short, Google’s aim is to make mobile phone users can use Google’s various services as internet users. Analysts predict that Google Phone(or GPhone) will adopt low-cost and low-technology strategy competition with Apple iPhone.
